“The Hearth knows that not all sacred

Places are found beyond the familiar path.

Some are kindled within

The walls we return to,

Where hands tend what nourishes,

Warmth is offered to what has grown cold,

And a place is kept for those

Still finding their way home.

It remembers that there is

Medicine in such tending,

And that sometimes the holiest thing

We can do is make a place where

Another soul may safely arrive.
